Purpose
The City of Indio maintains event calendars, promotional platforms, and public communication channels to inform residents and visitors about community activities, programs, and events. This policy establishes eligibility requirements, content standards, and submission procedures for events seeking promotion, publication, or participation through City-managed platforms.
General Eligibility Requirements
To be considered for publication, promotion, or participation through City of Indio channels, an event must:
Be open and accessible to the general public.
Benefit the community and be consistent with the City's mission and values.
Comply with all applicable local, state, and federal laws, regulations, and permitting requirements.
Include complete and accurate event information.
Be submitted with valid contact information, including the event organizer's name, email address, and telephone number.
All events are subject to review and approval by the City of Indio.
Content Standards
The City of Indio is committed to maintaining a welcoming, inclusive, and respectful environment for all residents and visitors.
Any form of discrimination, harassment, hate speech, or abusive content will not be tolerated.
Events should not primarily serve political campaigning, religious promotion, or contain discriminatory, hateful, threatening, or otherwise offensive content.
Ineligible Events
The following events are not eligible for publication, promotion, sponsorship, partnership, use of City communication channels, or participation in City-supported programs:
Political Activities
- Political campaign events.
- Events whose primary purpose is endorsing, opposing, supporting, or campaigning for a political candidate, ballot measure, political party, or political cause.
